On Saturday, I took my photo to the only German I know in Corpus Christi, and the most she could come up with on that name is that it starts with:
HAUY and could not make out the rest of the letters.
Of the listed cities, towns, villages, what would you think on this?
HAUY and could not make out the rest of the letters.

The closest on any of the names of places liberated by Americans during that battle that I can come up with but still does NOT jive with names I found is: Hoffelt. They were liberated by the 6th Armored Division on January 21, 1945.

About 2 weeks ago--I believe I solved the mystery surrounding this photo which indeed--is from the Battle of the Bulge. I fully believe that it was taken in Huy area--which means that it would be a tank from the 5th Corps in which if I recall? the 6th Armored Division was part of and which faced and fought part of LSSAH and Kampfgruppe Peiper. I stumbled onto some info while reading of all thing--one of my books from osprey which was about the Ardennes Offensive. Ill try to remember to write down the info I read in the Osprey book that I believe pertains to this photo. I might be wrong on Div Nr but I think it was the 6th? I got that idea from someone from the USmilitariaforums.com

I have no ability unless I send someone a copy of it. My tablet has no capability, and the library computers dont allow you to.
