If I recall correctly they were in the Mediterranean area of operations but I don't know how they were used. Maybe nightfighters ?

Here you go. The US got 100 of them for nightfighters. One is in the US museum which I did not know.

Darren you are getting hot on aircraft ! I had forgotton about that glider. Here is alittle more about it and some pictures.

De Havilland "Albatross" is a nice looking aircraft from WWII.

I read some time ago that they had some "quelling" problems in South-East-Asia, but still managed to perform very well.

Did you know that the USAAF also used Mosquitoes ? - must have been pretty hard for those US boys having to fly "wooden" aircraft's :D

The Mosquito was used in the Far East but the humidity played havoc with wood swelling and glue seperation which put paid to that venture , most of that was taken over by the Beaufighter in ground attack and torpedo bombing , called Whispering Death by the Japanese on account of the quiet running sleeve valve engines used .
But over and above the Far East it was used in all areas of the war with great success .
